We’re supporting Global Recycling Day on the 18 March by taking part in the “Wear, Share, Care” campaign with Hallam FM’s Cash for Kids.
Around 1.75 million tonnes of clothing waste is produced in the UK every year, and an estimated 1.2 million tonnes of this is sent unnecessarily to landfill. Which is why Cash for Kids have teamed up with Textile Recycling International and are looking to recycle textiles and clothing that might have gone to landfill.
This will directly help the environment and provide good quality clothing to some of the poorest developing nations in the world, as well as supporting disadvantaged children here in the UK.
Our team will be taking part by clearing out any unwanted clothes, shoes, bags and belts and bagging them up ready for collection at our head office in Sheffield.
For every tonne of clothing collected, Cash for Kids will receive £400 to help them continue their support of disadvantaged children in the local community.
As a key service provider to the Recycling and Waste industry, we’re delighted to be able to support national recycling date while raising funds that will benefit the local community.
